Alex Holmes
Alex Holmes (also known as) Flowerboy_A is a licensed floral designer who also moonlights as a freelancer. Born and raised in New Orleans, Alex has always had a love for flowers and finery. His passion and drive for creativity influence his unique style of floral and décor design.
Alex always pushes himself to create something original and thought provoking.
He specializes in large installation pieces, set and interior design. He has a flair for the eclectic and strives to deliver quality and perfection to his clients at each event.
Alex has gained invaluable production experience while working on the set of VH1’s My Celebrity Dream Wedding and is excited to share his expertise as an event industry educator.
Alex will be sharing his secrets for constructing jaw dropping installations and production tips to help any event standout.
The Floral Guru
Javelin Guilford
Javelin Guilford is a certified professional florist and owner of The Secret Garden II floral shop.
He began his career in 1985 working after school and on weekends in his Grandmother’s florist shop in Washington NC.
Javelin specializes in large centerpiece arrangements and bridal and bridal party bouquets. His knowledge of flowers is unrivaled in the industry.
His unique talent for sympathy work has afforded him the opportunity to design funeral arrangements for celebrities and statewide dignitaries. He is known for his creativity and attention to detail.
Javelin is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including, Winner of the Eastern NC centerpiece competition, Best in Show Sympathy design (Wake County), Best in Show Wedding Table Centerpiece Bridal/Wedding Show, and First Place Tabletop Competition at the Let’s Plan Wedding Conference/Extravaganza.
Javelin will be sharing his knowledge of floral recipes, design and proper construction for arrangements that wow your clients.

Lorna Dennis-Parker
Lorna Dennis Parker affectionately referred to as “Mrs. Lorna” by her industry colleagues is a trained floral and event designer. Charlotte NC is currently home, but Lorna was born and raised in “the Can Do City” of Texarkana, and is proud to bring her Project Rise Masterclass series back to her hometown where she and her husband have recently opened The Curated Collection (a luxury event rental firm) and The Venue @ 14th & Pine.
Lorna is a lover of pretty words, and inspiration generator, a design BFF and a master of meticulously curated occasions. Her gorgeous tablescapes and eye catching details often bring her clients to tears during room reveals. Her mission is to allow her God given talents to help her clients entertain their friends and families in splendid fashion.
Lorna is a certified event designer and a trained floral designer who curates bespoke experiences for her clients that are customized from invitation to entertainment. She is the owner and principal designer with L D Parker Event Designs which is a boutique event design firm located in Charlotte NC.
A Preston Bailey Protégé, Lorna was nominated for Intrigue Floral Awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Her work has been featured in Munaluchi Bride, The B Collective, Event Therapy Magazine and on Party Slate.
Lorna will be sharing tips for setting photo worthy tablescapes along with her knowledge of table etiquette and proper pairing of tabletop details.
