Lorna is a boutique venue owner, rental company owner with years of importing experience, certified event designer and a trained floral designer who curates bespoke experiences for her clients that are customized from invitation to entertainment. 

She is the owner and principal designer with L D Parker Event Designs which is a boutique event design firm located in Charlotte NC. Lorna is a Preston Bailey Protégé and was nominated for Intrigue Floral Awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Her work has been featured in Munaluchi Bride, The B Collective, Event Therapy Magazine and on Party Slate.

Lorna is the founder of the Event Professionals Marketplace; a social media platform that has a membership of over 20 thousand event professionals from every facet of the industry. She recently launched the Event Professionals Marketplace Academy which specializes in hands on and virtual education on every aspect of event design from branding and tablescaping to beginning floral design. Her goal is to teach burgeoning event professionals to find their “voice” in their design style.

More recently, in response to an overwhelming need for business education which was repeatedly requested by the members of EPM, Lorna developed the EPM Blueprint- how to begin, boost and bankroll your business. The online course focuses on assisting newer business owners in making the backend of their businesses as beautiful as the events they design.

Additional sessions are available as upgrades to take your course experience to a “done with you” level to provide extra support as you manage your first container order.

Each live Zoom Q and A session will include a review of the modules released that week and cover any questions the students have at that point regarding that part of the importing process.
2 course modules will be published per week. 

NOTE: You will continue to have access to the course material after the live cohort, so don’t worry if you can’t get through it all “live”. We do strongly encourage everyone to try and keep up with the group so you can take advantage of the importing schedule that we will be sharing to have your first container on order in Q1 🛫

It is absolutely still worth taking!

The steps to importing are mostly the same with regards to getting the imported items to the USA and through customs. This is all logistics.

However, there may be additional regulations that will need to be addressed depending on what the student wants to import.

No experience is necessary.

We will walk through every step of the import process and ensure each student understands how to navigate the process.

By the end of our course, the student should be able to confidently bring a container into the USA. They will also learn how importing for hotels and other businesses can be a lucrative revenue stream.
